The Virtue of Patience

Hey everyone, me again! Thank you all for following along until now. This week is going to go down as one of the best in my life. I get married tomorrow to the love of my life! I figured that the topic I had lined out for this week was more than fitting; having patience.

Patience has often been a difficult quality for me to embody, yet my journey offers a great reflection on how it can truly transform our lives. When I graduated college in 2021, I found myself on a new adventure in Dallas, Texas, a city that was entirely foreign to me as I made the leap from Iowa. Having no friends or familiar faces to navigate this new chapter with, I embraced a challenging yet rewarding role as a sales trainee.

After months of rigorous training and dedication, my perseverance paid off with a promotion to a full-time account manager, solidifying my place in the Dallas office. It was during a celebration for a colleague’s office transfer that fate intervened. I met my fiancé, Brandon. Our initial conversation quickly revealed that we were both headed to Scottsdale that weekend—he for a wedding and I to reconnect with friends.

What followed was a beautiful relationship nurtured by patience; we exchanged stories and explored shared interests over the next few months before making our relationship official. The journey from that first encounter to our current engagement is a testament to the power of waiting for the right moments—a lesson that extends beyond personal relationships into the realm of professional opportunities.

Reflecting on my experiences, I recognize that impatience often drives us to chase the first opportunity that comes our way. In doing so, we risk overlooking the paths that are truly meant for us. Patience in both love and business allows for deeper connections and the discovery of choices that align with our true selves. If I had rushed into the first relationship or opportunity, I might have missed the wonderful life I am building with Brandon and the career ambitions that await me as I continue to wait for the right moments.

Thus, while patience may still be a challenge I battle with, I choose to embrace it as a guiding principle—one that promises profound rewards.

In the realm of entrepreneurship, patience emerges as a cornerstone of success. As you start on your journey of building a business, the initial momentum often comes from your immediate circle—friends, family, and early supporters who are eager to see you thrive. This early wave of enthusiasm can be exhilarating, but it is crucial to recognize that such bursts of activity may not sustain themselves indefinitely.

Once the initial sales settle, a more challenging phase unfolds. It is during these quieter times that your patience and perseverance will truly be tested. Sales may dwindle, engagement may wane, and you might find yourself navigating through a landscape marked by uncertainty. In these moments, all that remains is your resolve.

Patience is not the absence of action; it is the belief that your efforts will yield results in due time. It requires you to embrace the quiet, to continue honing your craft, and to maintain a commitment to your vision. This gap in engagement is not a reflection of failure; rather, it is a necessary period of reflection and growth. It is here that you will discover the resilience within you, learning to endure and adapt in the face of adversity.

Moreover, it is essential to hold onto the understanding that there is a greater plan at work. Trust in the process and the belief that God aligns opportunities for those who remain diligent and ready. Your hard work, dedication, and unwavering patience will eventually culminate in the advancements and sales you seek.

In the world of business, as in life, patience is a virtue that will guide you through the storms. Embrace it, allow it to bolster your spirit, and witness how, over time, it transforms your journey into one of purpose and fulfillment. You will not only survive the valleys but emerge stronger—equipped with the wisdom to navigate future challenges with grace.

See you all next week as a married woman! XOXO
