Living Life in Balance
Hey y’all. I am back and MARRIED woohoo. I am so thankful that everything at the wedding went perfect and smooth; both Brandon and I had a blast. We went to Thailand for our Honeymoon; everything there was breathtaking. I did tell Brandon that if we ever fly to another continent again, we are flying first class. If we cannot afford first class then we cannot afford that vacation, because let me tell you, the flights on KoreanAir were BRUTAL in economy.
I am excited to get back on the weekly blog grind. This weeks topic of balance is speaking to me because I have been facing it head on lately.
As you can imagine, being present during your wedding and honeymoon is of utmost importance. Yet, upon returning home, I quickly found myself engulfed in a whirlwind of responsibilities and exhaustion. The 14-hour time change from Thailand to Utah was challenging, and we arrived back late Wednesday, only to hit the road again to Boise that weekend to grab our dogs from my sister-in-law and her husband, who graciously watched them while we were gone.
Traveling back and forth—between Salt Lake and Boise—within such a short span, compounded with the responsibility of marriage, showed what I was missing all along: balance. Balance is essential for success. We all are busy, which we can all sympathize with. Although, what we all need to keep at the forefront of our mind is that without balance, maintaining anything becomes an overwhelming endeavor.
Creating this balance is not just about time management—it's a reflection of what we value most in those moments. Prioritizing my well-being along with my marriage requires a deliberate, thoughtful approach. Each return to a familiar space and each shared moment with loved ones allowed me to prioritize joy amidst the chaos.
In essence, balance manifests outwardly in how we honor what matters. It beckons us to pause, reflect, and cultivate mindfulness in our choices. As I navigate this transitional phase, I am reminded that success is not just about achieving goals but also about savoring the journey and embracing each precious moment.
Take this into the rest of your week and weekend and put yourself and your relationships, whether romantic or not, in the forefront of your mind and ensure that you are prioritizing those people around you who encourage you to reach your goals each and every day. If not for them, who knows where we would all be today.
XOXO,
Jeslee
